Five things you need to know about the
Radical: Retreat, Resist, Reflect and Reconnect Programme

-
I care about you and how you feel - the main goal is to help you carve out time for you, to resist the pull to burn out, to be pressured to conform, and to critically reflect and reconnect with yourself and your practice individually and with a collective.
-
Your practice is unique - whether you’re a Birthworker, Doula or Hypnobirthing Teacher how you hold space with and for women is unique to you, and so too is your reflective practice.
-
You’ll have the tools - each week we will look at a variety of tools to support your journey of resistance, reflection and reconnection finding what works for you.
-
The collective is here with and for you - with a private Whatsapp group for members of the RADICAL Collective for ongoing peer support to help reflect and reconnect with like minded radical women working to dismantle systems of oppression in birth and beyond.
-
Your practice, your journey - the programme aims to be the start or to deepen your own reflective practice. It is unique to you, there is no set schedule, no end goal - this is the basis for a life long practice.

MOTHER CIRLCE
Becoming a Mother is a journey.
Becoming a Mother can be the most amazing experience.
Motherhood can be hilarious, dark, beautiful, lonely, brutal, loving and messy.
The tensions can be one hell of a ride throughout our mothering journeys but co-existence of emotions is more common and more vital than we may think, and certainly more than what society would lead us to believe.

There is actually a name for it....Matrescence. The transition you make on your journey into and throughout your mothering journeys. The latter being a key part, throughout your mothering journeys.
We often hear of the postpartum journey as if this is something that disappears when we emerge from the newborn bubble but we continue to (un)learn, grow, explore and navigate this role way beyond those first few months and years. We nurture ourselves and our wildlings throughout our mothering journeys, and that's OK, hell it's vital!
Like adolescence, matrescence is a time of change both mentally and physically. However, unlike adolescence there is still very little understanding, acceptance or support, across much of western society, for the transitions women make as we enter our mothering journeys.
In a time where many of us no longer live near or with our ‘village’, aren't connected to or with our elders, especially female ones who share their wisdom of mothering, it can feel overwhelming as we transition from maiden to mother.

You may have moments where you wonder…
🌿 Who is holding you physically or emotionally, who is holding space for you to share how you are feeling?
🌿 Who is holding you when or if you wish to share your birth story, however that unfolded, who is asking you how your birth was?
🌿 Who is holding you when you don't know how to feel about the wave of hormones and emotions, in the depths of sleep deprivation and overwhelm, rage, anxiety, a love like no other?
🌿 Who is holding you when you feel so much love you feel you may burst?

I am interested in holding you, holding space and nurturing you on your transition into early motherhood and beyond, because that support shouldn’t stop just because they’re now walking, talking, at nursery or school.
I am interested in sitting in silence with you, hearing your cries, your laughter, all the feelings you wish to release, knowing this can change from one moment to the next, and that's OK.
This is Mother Circle
There is something powerful when women gather and hold space with and for each other to pause, reflect and reconnect with other women in a supportive and nurturing space.
This is what The Birth and Motherhood Collective Mother Circle is all about, a nurturing space to share experiences, challenges, and wisdom in your mothering journeys.
The Mother Circle is your space and time to speak freely without the distractions, pull and need to be doing something for others, this is your time to connect, share experiences and build community with other women.
Sharing is 100% optional. If you feel more comfortable listening, that’s OK, follow your needs; this is your space to relax, reconnect and pause.
Ready to be part of Mother Circle?
Here’s what’s included:
Four weekly sessions with grounding and relaxation practices, space for nourishing chats, snacks and drinks to help you rest, relax and reconnect.
Goody Bag filled with treats just for you.
Connection with women in the community. The group will be 8-10 women max to enable deep, intimate and safe conversations and connection.
Everything shared will remain confidential within the Mother Circle – this is one of the sacred principles of the space – we are all there to support and hold space with and for each other.
Who is Mother Circle for?
All are welcome, whatever stage you are at and whatever experience you have in your pregnancy and mothering journeys. Whilst this is a mother only circle, babes in arms are absolutely welcome.
