Hello and Welcome to the Birth and Motherhood Collective
I’m Louise, a mama to an epic wildling, a qualified hypnobirthing and birth educator, and a trauma informed ending violence against girls and women practitioner.
I started to nurture the Birth and Motherhood Collective following the birth of wildling during the summer of 2020, a heatwave and a pandemic made for a ride I hadn’t predicted, particularly when it came to where I birthed and my postpartum journey. To learn more check out the About Me section where I share more of my journey into motherhood.
Nurturing and holding space for women and their families to truly follow their mind and bodies, be supported to see their options, their choices to lean into their decisions has formed the core and heart of what I so passionately believe in.
What do you offer?
I am currently working on three core offerings which will be ready for you to explore in the coming months.
They will focus on supporting you to plan for you birth, understanding how this can help, what it can look like and how to develop your own birth plan.
Taking time to think about your postpartum journey and how you wish to feel, nurture and rest your mind and body, along with understand the changes in relationships and what support is available to you once baby arrives is so important. The postpartum planning workshop will be tailored to help you feel prepared before you give birth, giving your mind and body space and time once baby arrives so you’re not rushing to make decisions when sleep deprived and wanting to just be and get to know each other.
Whilst we cannot predict how birth will go, being truly informed of all your options, rights and understanding your own power and how you wish to feel in pregnancy and birth is key, having space to explore all of this along with physiology of birth, pain relief options and so much more will be at the heart of the Birth and Motherhood Collective Birth Preparation workshops coming this autumn.
This is the beginning of many an intersecting journey
Much has been written about the journey to motherhood, how this can and does vary for all women. I am interested in the many journeys within motherhood itself. This new role continues to teach me a huge amount about myself, motherhood and the importance of letting go of what we cannot control (a continuous work in progress). The journey doesn’t stop once baby/babies arrive; this is merely the beginning of many intersecting routes, some individual, and some collective. I have found the space to deeply explore the need for self-care on a more collective level and how creativity can play a huge part in this.
My hope for this space is to enable us all to explore, reflect, and continue to grow and learn both individually and collectively.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope we can connect when or if it feels right for you.
